In Noginsk, Moscow Oblast, local authorities opened a center to support participants of the war against Ukraine in the building of what used to be the largest primary school in the city. Two years ago, the school was “closed for renovations,” but the children were never allowed to return.

Instead, this week, Igor Sukhin, secretary of the local United Russia branch, held a grand opening of the new center. He announced that the building would also host “a large museum and educational complex for young people.”

“This initiative fully aligns with the course set by the President of Russia and continues our systematic work in this direction,” Sukhin said.

Meanwhile, local students now study in overcrowded classrooms, and parents are openly outraged, accusing the authorities of stealing the school:

“They stole the school from our children! They lied about the repairs, lied about submitting a renovation request. And all that time, they were selling off the former Chernomyrdin University building in the city center. And the kids? Just cast aside.”
