In Ussuriysk, schoolteacher Dina Anishchik was fined 30,000 rubles for a performance by her students at the “Wonderland” festival. The children sang the song “Dear, kind adults, cancel the war!” and held up signs reading “No to war!” in Russian, English, and Ukrainian, reports Verstka.

Police deemed the performance “a public act aimed at discrediting the use of the Russian Armed Forces,” and the court concluded that the children’s performance amounted to “a call to end the special military operation.”

The teacher denied any wrongdoing, stating that the performance had been approved by the event organizers and that the expert evaluation was conducted with violations.

🕊 The song “Cancel the War” was written by Tatiana Vetrova, a member of the Union of Writers of Russia, and has been performed for years at children’s competitions and concerts commemorating war anniversaries.
