During a meeting with students of Kuban State University, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin stated that participants of the war against Ukraine should be allowed to teach in schools — specifically, subjects "closest to them."

«We would like to see such a teacher in every school. Because all the guys participating in the Special Military Operation are heroic and patriotic. They made the decision to defend the country. That’s important for children», — said Volodin, comparing participants of the invasion to WWII veterans who once taught him military training and shop class.

In fact, war veterans have already become a regular part of school life. They lead “Lessons in Courage”, attend ceremonial events, and run classroom activities. Just in the first week of the school year, hundreds of schools hosted “heroes of the Special Military Operation.” Many ex-soldiers have been officially hired as teachers.

In many cases, these are not just any soldiers — they include former prisoners, even convicted murderers, who were recruited from penal colonies to fight in Ukraine. Now, these individuals — many of them carrying combat trauma, psychological issues, and PTSD — are being placed in classrooms with children.
