On the night of June 28–29, St. Petersburg hosted Russia’s main graduation celebration — Scarlet Sails. This year, the event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War, with the central themes being “the power of unity” and “faith in victory.” The concert was opened by Governor Alexander Beglov, who emphasized that the president has already secured the graduates' future:

“Congratulations, heirs! Russia is home to brave, kind, and sincere people, ready to fight and win, just like our fathers and grandfathers did 80 years ago. Win together with Russia — Russia is a country of victories. Russia and our president Vladimir Putin have ensured your future. All roads are open to you.”

The evening’s headliner was Nadezhda Kadysheva, who sang to the graduates about “accursed love.” Singer Zara, against the backdrop of an image of a soldier participating in the war against Ukraine, performed the song You Will Return, while former Agata Kristi member Vadim Samoylov sent greetings to the front:

“Out there, behind the ribbon, your fathers, uncles, and brothers are serving under difficult conditions so that we can continue living. We send our greetings beyond the ribbon, to the guys who are defending our Motherland. Guys, we respect you, we believe in you. We don’t leave our own behind in war!”

The event’s host, Dmitry Khrustalyov, reminded the graduates of the price of Victory and emphasized that “an unbroken spirit and the ability to fight — that is the main legacy of the victors.”

Before the appearance of the Rossiya brig under scarlet sails, graduates were shown a theatrical military performance: on stage, to the song Dark Is the Night, soldiers appeared loading cannons, and participants of the “special military operation” were shown watching the concert live from the battlefield.
